![]() My Life...In WordsA Poem by blkberry4uMy Life…In Words I want a lover to stare into my eyes and ask, “Where have you been all my life?” Treats me as the Nubian queen that I am I speak these words with an unselfish tongue Without doubt of my abilities to reciprocate I pray not to leave this lifetime not experiencing true love I seek connections of souls Love of beauty Appreciative of much A brisk breeze on a spring day Crackling logs on a cold winter night The unique note of each string on my acoustic guitar Rays from the sun Light from the moon The tears from the strongest That ounce of will from the weak Simple yet misunderstood Liked but not known Melodic dreams Each day puts a tighter grip on my heart making it harder to breathe Hopes that soul mates exist as do defibrillators I’ve died many deaths in search of life Wandered around like an orphaned child in need to be needed, wanting to be wanted Hidden pains masked with happy faces Shivering cold nights find me I felt your heartbeat so I know you are near I’m center stage and its standing room only Never ending performances Yet now I bow Sandra Brown © 20 April 2008
