The Painting Boy

The Painting Boy

A Chapter by Harry
"

The boy starts finding his use in the world and forms a group.

"

"Harry, your bag!" my mom called as my bag came floating down the hall.

"Thanks, mom!" I said. I hurried out the house.

I walked in silence as my friend, Melodia, came along. She was my friend because we have one thing in common.

  Uselessness.

The World of Royegrebiviol is a place for magic, but our magic is totally useless.

My mom can use telekinesis, my dad can read minds, my sister can commune with animals, and all I can do is to control paintings.

I can make the world become a painting, can make paintings appear, travel through paintings, make paintings become real, change the colours of stuff, but still I know my magic is useless.

Melodia can control words. She can form a password lock, send her voice through the air, make words appear, and create a whirlwind of words, but still she know her magic is useless.

Uselessness is what we thought until we realized our value. It was a bully. His name was Eden Contobrigan.

Eden had a magic that helped him bully. He could become invisible and is able to sneak on children without them knowing it.

Today we saw him beating up youngsters. We were both very angry. So I decided to punish him. Then I discovered that when he is invisible, I can put paint on him, showing himself! Then Melodia got to work.  She formed a rope of words and she lassoed Eden, and pulled him toward her and Eden spun all the way.

When we were done, Eden was as dizzy as a spinner. So we decided to leave the hall.

"Now that was fun. Do you think we should start a group?" I asked Melodia.

"Like the Talented Ones? That's a good name. But we need more people."

"Easy. I can create art instantly. But how about the words?

"Don't forget me!" said Melodia. We both laughed. Even when I stopped, Melodia is still laughing like crazy. "Hahahahahahahahahahaha, that was the funniest thing I ever said! Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha!" Finally she caught she caught her breath and said, "Let's go make some posters! We mustn't be waiting all day!"

------------------------------------------------------------------------

The next day, we had some interesting forms coming in.

Name: Winston Dogavanto

Magic: Magic of Music

I am: A great musician, can make music and make horrible noises too. I can mimic all sounds. Can control sounds. Is kind, attractive, strong.

Remarks: Very talented, so he is ACCEPTED.

Name: Andrew Absidotack

Magic: Magic of Weirdness

I am: Weird, crazy, can make people go wonky and silly and run off laughing. Is silly, humorous.

Remarks: Too crazy and might influence us. So he is REJECTED.

Name: Jadyn Watevuant

Magic: Magic of Dance

I am: A great dancer, can make people dance until they wear out, can control movements of the body, excellent balance, great leap distance. Is proud and confident.

Remarks: Dance is a wonderful talent to behold, so she is ACCEPTED.

So after all, I only made one REJECTION (for our own good) and two ACCEPTIONS. Hmm... looks like a successful day to me. We stopped a bully and made a club! Looks like I'm not that useless after all.

It was alright, most of it was in past tense, which is fine, but can be considered confusing to some readers. As if you are telling the story, as it already happened, rather than it happening right now. So if you are trying to make it so you are telling a story that already happened, then you are using the correct tense.
