Disconnected

Disconnected

A Poem by Captain Goldpants

With a turn of courage

She changed her fate
under separate cover
she sleeps in late

Disconnected
from one
reconnected to another

The penny drops
the phone is engaged
in her head
war is waged

With the first two stanzas I was almost sure you must have known me same time last year. Leaving isn't easy. Staying away is harder. Moving on, once you do it, is Liberation in its finest moment. To feel free and independent. Sigh.

But God, how it sucks some days, being independent.
