Burning in the Night

Burning in the Night

A Poem by blind poet
"

A little something I wrote years ago while under the influence of Blake

"

I ask the fire burning me
'Did he who made the Lamb make thee?'

The fire is inside of me,
rekindled flames of poetry.

Why must this image burn so bright?
Why must I write by candlelight?'

The fire whispers back to me
'You make your own reality.'

I yearn to burn and I desire
immolation in this fire.

The bold quotation is from William Blake's 'The Tyger'

You've caught the spirit of poetry quite well in this piece. Candlelight does indeed have an affect on us. It represents a quiet space in our souls worth exploring. Nicely written.

Very beautiful, the rhyme is very passionate. Candle light always does go very well with writing, it touches something deep and primeval within us.
