Mortal

Mortal

A Poem by blind poet
"

My humble attempt to write to a very eclectic selection of words

"

You peeked into this open book.

Reading words much like a hook.

Your human eyes now see

things never usually

seen by human eyes.

Perhaps it’s chance, perhaps it’s fated.

It’s your life, reiterated.

You’re part of Earth’s eternal dance.

Listen and learn then take your chance

Unfettered by blind circumstance.

I love the couplet, "Perhaps it's life, perhaps it's fated/ It's your life, reiterated" I might have built something similar, had I not read this first, and now I can't! If I might suggest, that second line might parse better with a one-syllable addition: "It's JUST your life, reiterated...", or some suchlike.
A great message, as well...I'll have to see if I can top it, but, with the limitations of the lexicon Helena proffers, I'm not at all sure I can! This is the first time she has added the condition that the ten words be in a ten-LINE poem; my previous submissions to The Ten were much briefer!

Very nice work indeed. You made excellent placement with the ten words. It is a very limiting form but that's what makes it such fun to do. Well I think so anyway!
