Journey of Love

In my mind two soul mates met before fate really wanted them to and now they're stuck, but they still love each other :]

Cold winters and hot summers,
their footsteps tread the earth.
One on the west and other on the east,
a journey for love.
Maybe fate happened too soon,
brought them close together.
But they stood so far,
confusing and playing with hearts.
Just that tiny glimpse of a soul mate,
would make and create.
Maybe they weren't supposed to meet,
and wait until fate stopped its games.
He's so far and so is she,
so why was it such a tease?
An affinity that is so strong,
and now it's plain gone.

I can't tell if that's beautiful or awful (thats the problem with 1 am!) maybe its both... but perhaps they were meant to meet so that both would be ready for when someone else came in?

Fate can be a tricky thing and love even trickier... sometimes love is temporary in person but forever in the heart.
A very nice poem, you can feel the emotions in the verse.
