Phoenix

Phoenix

A Poem by Moth Phoenix
"

A tribute to my abusive ex.

"

I was once a girl with eyes so bright like fire,

And  you were my strong desire.

I wanted you, but you wanted more.

The tears I wept, the lies I told, and all for what?

An a*****e.

Disregarded, disrespected, and degraded,

Henney in my cup and now I’m faded.

The smoke crawls inside my lungs, the way you crawled around like slime.

You tortured me for almost four years, made me so small and worthless.

I thought I breathed my last breath,

I was certain I was near death.

But like a phoenix I was reborn,

A second chance with my heart torn.

Stitched myself back up tight, and then I saw the daylight.

I think I lived through something like this. Funny thing, I came back stronger. I feel I'm a much better person now than I was then. Thanks for reminding me how lucky I am.
A wonderful revelation of your heart.
