Excuse Me, Father?

Excuse Me, Father?

A Poem by BL

Excuse me, Father?
Am I awake or is this a dream?
It seems as though I'm floating
As I move across this sand.
I seem to vaguely remember that we once walked hand in hand.
This must be a troubled time
When you hold me in your arms.
I hear that’s how you protect us and get us through the harms
Of the world around us.
I think that you’d agree, what a miserable place it can be
And I pray that you’ll always carry me through.
Thank you Lord, for taking care of me.
Where are we going, as we walk through this sand?
It hurts me to know that I’ve failed again, but at least I have you here,
Someone to be my friend
And I know I can make it, I’ll come out on top in the end
Lord please put me down, I’m ready to walk once again.
