Underneath the Stars

Underneath the Stars

A Poem by BL

As I stand upon this moonlit beach, your starlight shines above.
You look down upon me, sparkling within the night.
Watching, Watching, I can’t hide.
You’ve seen me for what I am, purely human, a mortal man.
Yet I have aspirations, hopes and dreams,
You know it ís true.
Because of words spoke in secret, the one’s I spoke to you.
I look at you so distant and free, yet shining bright and clear
For all the world to see.
Yes, I can see you,
Though so very far, gleaming brightly, brighter than your normal star.
Yes, I can see you,
Though so very far, but can I see what is, what you really are?
Something more than a tiny speck of light,
Shinning, shinning in a moonlit night.
If I could, I’d fly to you,
And pick you from the sky.
Together all alone we’d be,
Together you and I.

Memories, memories
Appearing in my mind
Thinking, thinking, hoping to find.
I hold a thought,
You and I alone.
Dark night, moonlight, shining in the window.
Whispering
Hoping
Wondering
Dreaming.
Time goes and flows, another day and no one knows.
I kneel down beside your bed
And sing a melody from within my head.
You feel the words within your heart
And tear drops fall.
Lips upon lips, remembering a kiss,
A kiss that I stole from you
A kiss that seemed so right
Yet would turn out wrong
And why, oh why did it have to take so long
For us to work things out.
Yet a friendship grew
And through and through the bad times we have lasted.
Can’t wait to see you and hopefully soon
So I’ll just keep waiting underneath this pale moon.
And when we meet, surely sparks will fly
We’ll be together, again-
Together you and I.
