A Poem by sette
"

in a pain mode

"

Deadlines to meet,

Errands to run,

A never ending cycle

Until 22nd of December

Will be pain in my a*s,

Or should I say,

Headaches, here I come.

Enters " pain mode"

Never expected it,

Actions speak louder than words,

Gnawing more than headache

Paracetamol can’t cure.

Can’t focus,

Drank lots of coffee today

Has to sleep,

Toss and turn

Will this be a long night?

One thing pops up

Out of nowhere,

Where did it go wrong?

Where???

I am lucky that I've had few headaches in my life, but for years I shared an office with a coworker who got migraines a couple times a week. We kept our office dark & shades pulled, which I kinda liked becuz people wouldn't go in there, so it was nice & quiet. Your manner of expression feels jagged, exactly how one feels when in extreme debilitating pain, unable to complete sentences when each word feels like a hammer to the skull. Your poem gets across that physical torment (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Bad time for migraines...this poem reminded me of my sophomore year in high school.
The day before Christmas break I got Chicken Pox. I didn't recover, get out of bed, until the day before school started back...what a lovely vacation.

Hard to slow our world down. But we must dear friend. I am trying to slow my world down and I hope you are doing well. December is a busy month. Cold days for my Michigan and the holidays. Thank you for sharing your words and thoughts. Stay safe dear friend.
