a prayer for a friend

a prayer for a friend

A Poem by sette
"

for romil: may you be in peace

"

In the casket,

Your eyes were morose.

I know you are not in peace

My friend.

A lot of questions rise,

People talk about you

For two days now,

They don’t know the real story,

Yet they malign you,

Spread dirty rumors

Make up stories

Without knowing what is true.

I learned that the

Last part to decompose

When we die

Is our ear.

I know that you have

Listened to all those stories

And it made you sad,

Can’t believe that there

Were tears in your eyes.

Your body is lifeless,

But your soul is troubled,

It is lost and confused

With that I offer a prayer

Be comforted my friend,

Seek solace in our prayers.

This October 6

You should have turned 46

We will sorely miss you.

Oh, how beautiful. Speaking to the ear and the heart of a friend after the end of their life.

Mythical in its reality.

You're more than welcome! :):)

Dang...the death is sad, and the story left in its wake even sadder. Full emotional expression and great writing is sometimes cathartic. So sorry my friend. Great writing though.

A very sad and otherwise emotionally charged poem indeed... I rate it amongst the best of your poems I have read here to date..... Neville

Profoundly sad.
Whatever happens to us--or those we love--praying is always a good idea.
Beautiful poem!

I am sorry for your loss sette. May your dear friend rest in peace. I was always taught that you do not speak ill of the dead, as they can't defend themselves.
