You have been a friend in my FB

for quite a long time,

it was FRIENDSTER first,

then FFF later,

followed by INSTAGRAM,

we were not destined to be in TWITTER

çoz I don’t have one.

 

Just like every 19^th of June,

The day reminds me of two things,

Your birthday and JOSE RIZAL’s birthday.

The first time you told me your real name online,

Found it too hard to believe.

 

Named after a national hero,

Your parents were sure are patriots.

 

Offline you showed me the evidence

Which is your birth certificate,

Now I can see you were really named after him.

 

It has been a long, confusing journey

Of friendship and attachment,

No concrete label,

Just simply friends.

 

You know that I have a

Humongous crush on you

For a little bit,

You made me be interested

In meteorology and cosmology,

You know that I hate science,

I can’t even distinguish meteor from meteorite.

 

On your 52^nd birthday

Which is today,

I wish you continuing success

In your field of expertise,

Hopefully I can understand

Climate change this time.

 

To my MR. WEATHER FORECASTER,

One of the long time friends

I have online and offline.

 

Happy happy birthday,

I have posted this poem

On your timeline,

So a lot of your friends

Will see this simple tribute

For you.

 

Thank you for entering my life,

Before, now and the future too.
