cockroach

cockroach

A Poem by sette

A flying cockroach

roamed at my room

last night.

I was looking for

a swatter

to kill it,

but every time,

I hit it,

It just flew over

the room.

A few minutes later,

with no success,

I sat on my bed,

thinking what if

the cockroach is a

reincarnated soul?

What if I was able to

swat it,

then the soul

cannot go home.

How will his soul

be healed?

A few minutes later,

I turned off the light

and went to sleep,

with the much alive

cockroach nestled somewhere

in my room.

You're a braver person than I am.i would have stayed up all night looking for it.if you can't kill it,find a way to capture it and let it out.you let one in, they all want to come in and stay.you would be a good roommate tho 😊

Your poem bring me back two things. I think like 2 months ago I saw on YouTube one girl who have pet Cockroach. Humans probably can pet anything. Second famous story by F. Kafka metamorphosis. I member when I read it fris time. Few mornings I observe if I am still human or not. Good you let him live each good story have happy ending. I like how you derive your thoughts about reincarnation. I always when I see some creature what I don't like I think may e in next life it will be much much better. Good poem.

what a smashing little story, I suspect an account of actual events you personally experienced, and now of course preserved forever in the metaphorical amber of your words........ Neville

and thanks for just being there

thanks for that review very nice of you to drop by
If this was a reincarnated soul, I think you would be doing it a favor by helping it to its next life. They can live through a nuclear holocaust so odds are they deserve their current body.
