A Poem by sette

From the first time

I have Philosophy class

during my freshman year in college,

I was this naïve seventeen year old

who can’t define what a be-ing is.

I almost fall asleep in every session,

because I can’t comprehend anything.

Examinations, Term Papers and Research

I am in a daze,

don’t know what to do.

The thing to note,

all the philosophers are dead,

so why study them?

second to note,

why are there so many schools?

But when I came across

Immanuel Kant,

his deontological virtues,

his categorical imperative,

his a priori and a posteriori knowledge,

the fascination with Philosophy begun,

the journey to be familiar with every school,

the questions in my head,

full of queries, full of doubts and full of arguments.

Halfway through,

I met the existentialists

starting with Sartre

and ending with Marcel,

I was more than fascinated,

I was intrigued and most of all,

the search for answers

were haunting me,

daunting me.

Now all I can say,

I can define what be-ing is.

Kant was always for me too academic. I though I never study on college, I always study for myself. I think Sartre was first philosoph who take my interest . But I also enjoyed Seneca for his calmness and warm in his words. But when I read it first work of Michelle Foacault I really felt this man know something about me. His deep analysis of deep dark psyche and definition like sexuality is our force in the politics and wars was for me like young man very interising.
