one true friend

for apple, my best friend in the whole world

A true friend is like a rare gem

too valuable to lose.

too difficult to find.

amidst the high and low tides

of one’s life,

there is someone whom

you can count on,

every minute, every second

of the day.

Moments spent are too precious

needs to be cherished,

because it is not a fake.

Only few people are fortunate

to have one true friend

in one’s life.

I consider myself  one of the few

who managed to find a gem

For life.

This is a lovely poem and I think, like Jason below in his comment, we will all want to be that gem! And you are right, true friends are very rare. A lot of people are let down by their 'friends', but, amazingly, some people manage to find a 'friend' within themselves. In this world as it is in these times, i do think it is important to be a friend to yourself. A really nice write.
