enigma

If I were to define

what love is,

the first and only word

that comes to my mind is

ENIGMA.

 

It had been a puzzle

that makes it harder to solve

with every relationship

I’ve had.

 

There is truth

to the song that

sometimes love just ain’t enough,

because of the pains

too hard to endure.

 

Maybe, in time,

my stubborn mind and heart

will agree that,

in loving, it doesn’t always

mean pain.

 

Maybe, in time

I can solve the puzzle

of love,

and that I can be

truly happy.

Love appears to be about how we feel regarding someone or something.
Not sure it can be effectively intellectualized.

Love is never enough by itself. But what else is required to make a relationship last is indeed a puzzle. And perhaps one of the many enigmas in life. Out there for us to question and grapple with but answers that perhaps are never final and conclusive. At the end, you end up wondering- is it even worth it?
