children

children

A Poem by sette

The day is bright,
the sun is shining,
clouds are hiding
to pave way for children playing.

Sitting on a wooden bench,
on a nearby park,
admiring their cherub faces,
with chocolate smears on them.

Their giggles and smirks,
heard everywhere
were music to my ears,
wishing it wouldn't end.

I sat on the wooden bench,
thinking and hoping,
that they stay as
children forever.

"with chocolate smears on them." - Nice visual.

(If they stayed children forever, that would be a Stephen King story, wouldn't it? :P )

Nicely written.

yes stephen king would be grateful for another feather in the cap
