Heavy Heart Lost

Heavy Heart Lost

A Poem by SoulExchanger
"

You don't sink no more - your heavy heart lost keeps you afloat.

"

they never said it was combustible

and shockingly, you thought you were invincible

you’ve gone beyond the point of hearing

there must be glass in your hair, prickling your skin,

maybe the ground wasn’t the best place to be-

shattered glasses, stolen chips, trampling heels-

it’s all gone haywire
not just at the casino

how did the world get so messed up?

alas " still stuck in the phase

when the broken heart results in death
when the world is defined by a person
when the pain is suddenly bearable by their presence

your anchor is gone and you’re no longer grounded

but you don’t sink no more "
your heavy heart lost keeps you afloat
