Monotony

Monotony

A Poem by Expert_Novice
"

Part of a larger collection, this poem addresses the repetitiveness of life, especially routines.

"

While I ponder

They yet wander

Ordered same each day

Perhaps I’ll interrupt this waltz

Of trains upon internal tracks. For

Somewhere different misses them!

Open? Shut the doors!

Watch out, a line was crossed!

Oh dear, what will we do?

Awareness does not fit this dance!

I doubt we can see much more than

This, as time is the piper. They march

As slaves to life’s monotonous song.

Like mice to a most holy tune.

You mock me? Oh the pain.

A hypocrite you say?!

But of course, I march along!

It’s the pathway to the grave!
