One Breath

One Breath

A Poem by Black Swan Poetry

Emotions bursting

Like buds in the spring

You ask me now

What does all this mean

Dancing in circles

Feeling everything

All at once

It’s too much

Forcing you to scream

Looking at me

But seeing right through

Your arms outstretched

But I can’t seem to reach you

The sky it falls

And melts into the grass

Strangely beautiful and reassuring

But it is fading and does not last

Clouds rolling by

As fast as a train

You stand there looking up

Your eyes begin to flow

And smear across your face

Letting go of all the pain

Unable to help

I watch with sorrow

Just know I will return

And stand by you again tomorrow

And for all the tomorrows

You will ever see

To be witnessed in one breath

A candle that burns a flame

Just for you

I have kept

On the chance of your

Future happiness

I have not slept

I like this. It has an attractive tone and cadence. There is a delicacy to this poem. Well done overall...

One thing - When poems run on with no breaks they are hard work. Of course if you are striving for a breathless rush then this is it. However, I put breaks in as I read so I could 'breath' a bit.

lovely... made me think of the love our LORD has for us.

this felt like a poem of unconditional love, the line...I watch with sorrow...was strangely moving. Thankyou. Loved it.

"I have not slept." I think this one, last line makes the lack of line-breaks appropriate, and I actually like the flow of this poem a great deal. Well done.

I enjoyed the way you combined joy with sadness in one poem. You painted a clear picture, bringing me to the sky and back down to earth. Nice poem.

About
I enjoy writing Poetry about the human condition. While much of this can at worst be very sad and at best be serious. This is not all that encompasses me. And it does not represent my constant state o.. more..
