true you

true you

A Poem by The Everyday Surprises of Having a Family

Is there a soft side to you

Under all the morbid black

Is there a soft side to you

When you turn your back

Will I only know the true you

When I can't see your face

Will I only know the true you

When we message on myspace

Is there a soft side to you

I think I can tell

Is there a soft side to you

It seems like it in the e-mails

Will i only know the true you

When I've messaged that I've cryed

Will I only know the true you

When you take back all the lies

This would be stronger and more impressive in its simple, bittersweet theme, if you'd spell-check...chatspeak isn't very conducive to portraying strong, complex, tangled emotions. That's my one complaint, but it's a biggie.
