She must be

This is a poem I wrote when I found out the guy I had a crush on had a girlfriend. Yeah, typical girl drama.

She must be

the luckiest girl in the world

having you by her side,

with only a glance

to sustain myself.

 

She must mean

the world to you,

or else your eyes

would not be

as bright as they are

when she calls you

on the phone.

 

There must be something

about her that

makes you feel

like you're on

cloud nine

and gives you

that amazing smile.

 

When she cries,

she can count on

your strong arms

and gentle voice to

be there

to chase the tears

away.

 

I can imagine you

wondering what she

is doing

right now.

 

I wish you

all the love

she can give you

from the bottom of

my heart.

Author's Note

I know there are probably a thousand cliches, but I wrote what I felt as a naive young girl. If any of you are curious, me and the guy are still good friends.
