Give me a reason to dieA Poem by Jamie-LynnBased rather tightly around a scene in episode two of an anime Durarara, where a character, Izaya, convinces a girl not to kill herself by being an a*s.I'll tell you a story, dear reader, but my story has a small twist. Though before I begin, take a look at your wrist.
Do you see little white lines, running across that blue vein? Have you ever hid your tears, by walking in the rain?
Have you ever forced a smile, simply to see the joy it brings? Are you a devil in disguise, or an angel with demon wings?
He wanted to help her, but not badly, She intended to die on that night. But why, he wondered, end your life, if the thought of death brings you fright?
His head tilted in wonder as he though, was death merely her easy escape? Despite her hesitation, she made to jump, and his mouth fell agape.
"So you think you can spite me?" She looked back, his smirk and voice was cruel. "Your hypocritical secrets mean nothing to me. You may be naive, but I don't think you're a fool.
Just think, my dear, your problems are nothing. Do you not lie and keep secrets as well?" Was he trying to help or just taunting her? She simply couldn't tell.
And with that, he left her. He new he couldn't stop her if she truely wanted to die. If she did, though he doubted she would, D****t, you couldn't say he didn't try.
After that night she never saw him again, and as far as she knew he never saw her. He saved her life and even if she lived forever, she'd never forget him, of that she was sure. © 2011 Jamie-LynnReviews
