Fallen Comrade

Fallen Comrade

A Poem by Jamie-Lynn
"

Dedicated to those who have died for this country.

"

I knew it was coming,

as soon as I refused to run.

I knew that my helmet,

would soon sit atop my gun.

To serve my country,

it was the honor of my life.

And to die for my country,

was my willing sacrifice.

I'm calm and at peace,

surrounded by love and laughter.

I'm with those who served before me,

and I bless those who'll serve after.

The old Soldiers do believe. One day us who gave without glory for our self. Served our country well. Will find peace with friends one day. My father lost many friends in the Korea war. Told me often. I will join my friends one day. They have a seat waiting for me. A powerful poem. We need to remember the Soldiers who are serving today and the Soldiers who gave all. A outstanding poem.
