Almost

Almost

A Poem by Jamie-Lynn
"

A not so recent breakup I'm not quite over yet.

"

I'm almost jealous,

when I see her with you.

And I'm almost jealous,

that you have someone new.

I almost miss holding you,

feeling you against me.

I almost regret, mearly almost,

what we will not be.

I almost miss your lips,

soft, so soft, against mine.

Almost miss your blushing face,

and how your eyes would shine.

I almost cried, just almost,

when you said you'd moved on.

And I'm almost aching,

knowing your love is gone.

Simple, simple words.

A lost love's requiem.

And, re-reading these words,

I almost believe them.
