Let me hold your handA Poem by Jamie-LynnLet me help you when you feel you're falling apart. This one goes out to the boys who are afraid to go into the locker room because they know they'll be beat up. This one goes out to the girls who are afraid to go to class because the 'popular' girls laugh at them. This one goes out to the parents who are afraid if they marry for love, they won't be allowed to see their child.
This is for the boys who cry into their pillow because they're forbidden from seeing the one they love. This is for the girls who slit their wrists after their parents disowned them for being in love with a girl. This is for the parents who started drinking because social services think they're unfit to take care of a child.
Here's to the boys who are dating their crush's sister because their scared of admitting their gay. Here's to the girls who are dating the star of the football team because she knows the head cheerleader is straight. Here's to the parents in a loveless relationship for the sake of their child growing up 'normal'.
Here's a loving hand to the boys who want to kill themselves because their best friend is ignoring them now. Here's a loving hand to the girls who want to kill themselves because their friends are creeped out by them. Here's a loving hand to the parents who are trying to get over the depression so if they can see their child, it'll be joyous.
Here's to all those out there who feel alone because their different.
Here's to all those out there who just want to know someone cares.
And here's to all those who want to give their hand. © 2010 Jamie-LynnAuthor's Note
