Masque of the day

Masque of the day

A Poem by Jamie-Lynn
"

Because night is the only time that mask is removed.

"

As the world turns to darkness,

the happiness will fade.

As the sun disappears,

and light turns to shade.

Out come the truths,

away with your lies.

When moonlights on the ground,

and stars fill the skies.

Your masque is removed,

you would think it's not fair.

But since you don't realize,

you don't really care.

Tears start to fall,

from innocent eyes.

But God turns away,

ignoring your cries.

To be happy or sad,

you'll never choose.

With everything to gain,

and nothing to lose.

So you take on the night,

and completely forget,

that the dark takes it's toll,

on what you'll regret.

The sun will rise,

and warm you soul.

It'll dry your tears,

and make you feel whole.

But you know it's a lie,

you know it's all fake.

Because you're scared of a reality,

you can't seem to take.
