Worth it

Worth it

A Poem by Jamie-Lynn
"

Inspiration came from me trying to keep a friend from killing himself. For those of you who are curious, he didn't.

"

I don't feel the warmth,
that comes from the sun.
I start to shake,
as I stare at the gun.

Would it be better,
if I were to die?
There wouldn't be pain,
I'd have no need to cry.

There'll always be the day,
that my life would end.
So why not now?
Why should I pretend.

I finger the trigger,
I start to feel sick.
I need to decide,
and do it quick.

No, I drop the gun.
I won't throw this fit.
So I turn around,
because it's not worth it.

A very powerful poem. Sometime we need friends to show us the right road. Death is a dead-end road. Great description and a excellent ending. A excellent poem. Thank you
