Remember to Breathe

Remember to Breathe

A Story by Jamie-Lynn
"

The title is actually what inspired this...you can interperet it the way you want to.

"

And you drown within your own sorrow. Your blood simmers in your veins, pulsing with a torturously slow pace. With each forced breath pryed from your pleading lungs. Each sound rings detached in your head, heard but unheard.

The sweat gathers on your palms. The sweet call of release is beckoning, the thought of that cool blade on your wrist. Where the skin thins and the pulse teases you, taunts you. Each pull at the skin, each tease of the sharp metal lying on your wrist.

Every scar, each little white line crossing over the blue vein. And every bruise, every pool of blood under the skin. The desperate need, biting and scratching and clawing at you, begging for the taste of pain. And the sweet feeling of warmth as the scarlet liquid gently streams out.

Yet with every scream, with every tear, you hold desperatly on to yourself, hoping and pleading silently to keep a hold onto what's left of your sanity. Gripping onto the little rusted glimmer of hope so tightly, refusing to let it slip away.

So, with every cry, every cut and every scream, keep that hold on yourself. Scream out for help, beg for guidance. And until your life finally slips out from under you, rememeber to breathe.
