You Came

You Came

A Poem by Belle

Your poetry came in to my soul

You came in to my heart

That is all I will ever remember

That is all I shall ever know for truth

Until I grow old,

Until I die.

This poem says a lot in very few words. One can read sentiments here that can be intensely personal and yet universal at the same time. One interpretation could be the one given by Horizon K. below. For me, the first two lines of the poem say everything really. John Keats wrote in his "Ode on a Grecian Urn", that
"Beauty is truth, truth beauty, that is all
Ye know on earth and all ye need to know".
And I think that applies here to. The beauty of poetry is what speaks to our soul. The beauty in fellow beings is what stays in our hearts. This isn't the superficial beauty of the words or the body, but a transcendental one that can communicate without any words being uttered. It is the beauty of that moment, that you will remember forever. And we all have such moments in life. An extremely elegant write. Wonderfully penned!

Very concise, very simple, and yet the feelings and emotions are strong and relevant. Isn't it strange how just a few well placed words can effect a mind so completely and deeply?

A poem touches us in so many ways possibles, the power of words either brings light or darkness. In this poem i could see both:

"you came in to my heart
That is all I will ever remember "

I believed that when someone brings light, there will always be someone to take the light...

a heartfelt piece my courageous friend ;)

A beautiful poem. Words can overtake our mind and heart. A real writer can make you cried or wish to be in a better place. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Until I die...

So heartfelt. Short but very powerful. How magical and powerful are those words to enter into one's soul, and let them occupy his/her mind until he/she grow old...and until the end?

This poem is really touching...with the much appropriate music playing. Superb, Ms. Belle. :)

Beautiful, smooth and filled with heart, joy and memory. Your words craft a loving connection in a fabulous way. Showing us both the kindness and compassion, but the dedication as well.

Great Ink Ms. Belle! =)

Wow, galing mo, Belle.

It reminds me of a book I read, and a movie I seen, as well...called 'the Lover'...the movie is steamy...it's about a young French girl who fell in love with an Asian man torn from the taboo of the times...the ending of the book reminded me of your poem, which is exquisite Passion.
