We The People

A poem that i wrote on the 4th of July

We The People,

are sick of racism,

sick of poverty,

sick of hatred,

sick of the police brutality,

sick of the commonplace brutality,

with we treat our fellow man,

are sick of being mocked and lied too,

are sick of being treated like we don't belong,

are sick of eurocentrisms,

are sick the system.

We The People,

that includes people of color,

that includes women,

that includes children,

that includes more than cis-gendered

old men,

that includes the hoods,

the barrios,

the suburbs,

and the classy upscale areas.

It includes those with burkas,

those with dreadlocks,

those with mohawks,

those with braids,

those with long hair,

and those with short hair,

those with tattoos,

those with piercings,

those with accents,

those with history here,

and those without,

those with children,

and those with none.

We The People,

are tired of the same old thing,

are tired of stereotypes,

are tired of gender roles,

are tired of the demand for respect with no

reciprocation,

are tired of of the petty political struggles,

are tired of the ignorance,

are tired of the impossible beauty standards,

are tired of the gunshots overseas and at home,

are tired of the blatant disrespect for the young,

are tired of fighting so something that we should already have,

are tired of the destructive rape of our planet,

are tired of the injustice of the so called "justice system".

We are The People,

and we will be heard,

ignore us,

and the reckoning will come,

on that fateful day,

when we all band together as one,

we'll crush this country with love,

the revolution will be televised,

and when the time is past,

this time period will just be known as

another dark chapter of history,

so says the people.
