In the SnowA Poem by Karleem JohnsonOftentimes this is what i do when everything gets to be too much...it's not always snowy thoughThe snow swirls gently around him and his mind races and his chest heaves from his run. His eyes tear up, his heart is broken, he has nothing left..... he looks to the sky, and slowly closes his eyes. His music seems to speak to him as he begins to nod his head, telling him that he's not crazy, and he's not better of dead, his arms slowly lift along with his sense of dread. He feels the music inside of him, it moves his heart and fuels his limbs. A foot slides, an arm follows, his rage empties out of his body with each and every movement, leaving him hollow. Tears streak down his face as he dances in the snow, too tired to care if his emotions show, when a break in the music hits he takes it slow, only to bang his head when it speeds up and again let himself go. An elation fills him, replacing his all of his hurt and woe, he uses the music to beat depression, his bitter foe. © 2013 Karleem JohnsonFeatured Review
