Chaotic Confusion

Chaotic Confusion

A Poem by Karleem Johnson

Slamming my head

in the darkness,

ripping my mind open

at the edges,

calling a call that has been

heard through the ages.

Hands working,

letting my pen fly

through the pages,

ink transforming paper

into a mirror of

my emotions.

My whole body reacts

to my mental commotion,

waves crashing against

me like the ocean.

But there's no spell,

no magic potion,

that will help me

find my life's solution.

In this living hell i dwell,

this eternal prison cell,

won't someone help me

break this shell?

Life's hammer to

my nail,

how many times can one man fail?

I really appriciated this poem. The verse 'My whole body reacts/to my mental commotion,/waves crashing against/me like the ocean' is a good use of word play. I write a little rap and i felt it had a similar flow to a rap style beat. Good work.
