Rip (Damn sure)

Rip (Damn sure)

A Poem by Karleem Johnson

I can't stop this pain,

but i damn sure can hide it,

bury it so deep

within me that not even

a god can find it.

I don't know if i can live

without you,

but i damn sure can try,

i'm so sick of having this

throbbing heart,

and these tearful eyes.

Sick of the paranoia and

all of the fights,

sick of trying and trying

with all my might,

to fix what's wrong and

make it right.

Leaving you will feel

like i'm being torn in two,

but i have no ther option,

it's all we can do.

And although it hurts,

we know it's best

to rip the still beating heart,

right from our chest.

I'm glad I found this poem of yours, because in a way it's comforting to know I'm not the only one that feels this way. So, thanks.
