How I FeelA Poem by AreejMy first poem in a VERY long time. Not many people know dysthymia even exists. This is how the world feels like if you have it. Suggestions and criticism are all welcome. Oh and thanks for taking the
Do you know how it feels,
To be frozen still in date, And yet struggle against the winds of fate, Only to be blown away by the merciless gale, Come along, For I'll tell you a tale, A tale about all my ails, Fret not, pity me not, For I'm not a malfunctioning bot. Do you know how it feels, To contain within an endless void, All my sorrows and joys it steals, I feel their stares and glares, Treat me normally they do not, Demented, disturbed & deranged I am they thought, Behave around me like a theatrical cast, But I very well see through their smiling mask. Do you know how it feels, To be all alone on your own, Everything seems set in stone, Just you, your thoughts and the dark. They all think I have failed, No matter how hard I try, they said, The ship has already sailed, One last thing left to do, Just need to close my eyes, And hope I can pay the price, The price of eternal respite. An unfeeling whisper pierces through my veil, Are you finally here? I sweat, shudder and scream, As I call out his grim name, Only to find myself alone again © 2017 Areej |
