Me...

A poem about the changes life brings in you...

Ever since this new life started,
it has been a dizzy haze;
I have lost some bits of me,
but have grown in many ways.

This life is quite exciting, fun,
dangerous if i might so say;
It has made me accept "what's done is done"
instead of "why can't it be this way?".

I've learnt to speak up;
To party through the night;
To not get all gloomy over,
some stupid baseless fight.

I've learnt to stick my tongue out,
to all the problems life hurls;
I've learnt to enjoy the prickly thorns
amongst its soft velvety curls.

I've learnt to turn a blind eye,
To not care about what i see,
I've learnt not to lament about
whatever this life has done to me.

I've learnt to try and fail and try
without shedding a single tear;
Then why do i suddenly feel overwhelmed
today by this strange, eerie fear?

I fear to lose all i have,
all that is left of me;
It's only a matter of time, they say
and then it'll be over, this agony.

But I'm not ready to lose it all,
I argue relentlessly;
Even though this life may be harder than it looks
it has made me what i am, the new ME....
