Aqua Vestibulum- Part 2A Chapter by blackcaynesoul mates?
What?' I squeaked, not moving in his grasp. I heard the sound of the balcony door creak open as Tristan peeked around the corner.
'You never told me that she was my sister,' he muttered quietly towards Fone. Fone let go of me and cocked his head slightly. 'I would've told you if I knew man.' 'Waitwaitwait... What?' I frowned, stepping away from Fone, tripping on my feet. His hand curled around mine to steady me. 'Thanks,' I said, releasing my hands and pulling them to my chest. He smiled gently and looked at Tristan, his pale gaze hardening. 'You never told me that she was your sister,' he coughed violently. My eyes widened in alarm. 'Are you okay?' I said worryingly. He reached his hand and grabbed my forearm. He wheezed and breathed out calmly looking back up at me. I felt a heated circle on my arm and picked up his hand to find a snowflake shaped tattoo just like mine. His was situated on his left palm instead of the right unlike mine. I frowned and turned to his right palm while he and Tristan stood silently waiting for a reaction. On it was the delicate carving of the same wave that was on my left palm. I swallowed and felt a tightening in my chest as I let go of his fingertips. He quickly grabbed my hands again an the tightness dissapeared. I gasped, 'What is this?' Fone looked over to Tristan in doubt then back at me, his expression softening. 'Well... This is kind of hard to explain...' he hesitated glancing back at Tristan. 'But,' he looked back at me, 'Since you have the snowflake on your right palm,' he brought up his right hand and I raised my palm to hover in front of his. They were far enough that I couldn't feel his flesh but I could feel a slight warmth radiating off him. 'And I have it on my left,' we pressed our hands together and I felt the same shiver of electricity run through me. 'I have the wave on my right palm,' he lifted his other hand and I mirrored him. 'You have the wave on your left.' his voice had lowered to a whisper and our palms touched. The electrical current was stronger and I gasped at the strange feeling of the energy running through me. Fone had a faint smile on his face and looked up to my eyes, his colourless eyes locking with mine. He leant close to my ear and whispered with his breath washing over my neck, 'We're destined to be together.' My heartbeat raced and I heard Tristan cough. 'Guys, I'm still here you know,' he rolled his eyes. 'Also you forgot to mention one thing.' I looked up at him. 'You can control water.' I frowned in confusion and jerked my hands away from Fone. My chest tightened again and Fone frowned, picking up my hands again. The hold released and I looked up at Fone with fear. 'When we meet each other we can't be apart from each other or that will happen again,' he said with a pained look on his face. 'I'm sorry Lora.' 'Is there any way to make it stop?' my voice caught. He cleared his throat, a pink hue brushing his cheeks, 'For short term, a kiss. For long term, marriage.' I blushed and squeezed his hand. Tristan groaned, 'Great. She isn't even eighteen and already knows who she's going to marry.' he stomped back into the house, slamming the door behind him. We watched him go and looked back at each other, grinning. I averted my eyes and bit my bottom lip. 'Listen Lora, I'm really sorry about this,' he murmered, bringing his hand to lift my chin up to look at him. 'A kiss on the cheek,' he breathed, shifting his hand to rest on my cheekbone. 'Will last three hours... While a kiss on the lips,' he traced his thumb over my bottom lip. 'Will last longer depending on how... Ahem. Passionate.' I blushed and lifted my arms to wrap around his neck. Giggling, I brushed a kiss on his cheekbone and let go quickly. His face flushed and he averted his eyes, bringing his hand up to touch the place where my lips had just been. There was no tightness and I grinned clenching and unclenching my hands. Looking up I said, 'Thank you, Fone.' 'It was my pleasure,' he smiled lopsidedly, his streaked hair flopping over his right eye. He ran his hand through his hair, looking out at the waves crashing on the beach. The wind lifted up my hair and I shook my head so the black and brown locks didn't disrupt my vision. Breathing in the salty breeze I asked Fone, 'Have you surfed before?' He made a distorted face and gave a halfhearted sigh, 'I tried.' Laughing, I patted him on the shoulder and reasoned, 'I can teach you... If you want.' He smiled gently and said, 'Sure, but I get to teach you how to snowboard.' 'That seems fair,' I grinned. 'Deal.' I stuck out my hand and we shook on it. *** It turned out that he was staying at our house in Tristan's room and it was awfully convenient that our rooms were right next to each other. When it was time to turn in, Fone gave me a quick peck on my forehead and disappeared into the depths of Tristan's dungeon. I smiled at his gentleness and hid under my covers wondering how I'd last through the night. Falling asleep, I felt soothed by the sound of waves crashing on the beach. I woke to the sound of my door creak silently open. Dragging my eyelids open, I saw Fone and I smiled dreamily. 'Hey, so this is how it's gonna be every night.' he whispered, padding towards my bedside. 'Hello soulmate,' I jokingly murmered, still drugged with sleep. He grinned a he kneeled down beside me, tucking a stray lock of hair behind my ear. I hummed and pressed my hand over his, brushing his over my jawline. Still in a dreamlike state, I half sat up and rested my other hand on his bare shoulder. Bringing my blue eyes level with his pale orbs I grinned gently and pressed my lips on his quickly and flopping back on my bed. He sat back on his knees, stunned and I was finally able to see him properly. He was wearing only a pair of white flannel pants with a snowflake pattern on it. His torso was sculpted beautifully and his stomach, arms and back were well defined. Not too much, not too little. I lay on my pillow facing him just drinking in the sight of the moonlight draped over the contours of his body. He had a strong jawline and his features looked like they were in a painting. His hair was sticking up at odd angles and I smiled at him. 'Um... Okay,' he blushed, pursing his lips. I laughed quietly and said, 'Sweet dreams Fone.' He stood up and walked to the open door. 'Goodnight Lora,' he said, turning his face to look at me. He closed the door quietly and I raised my fingers to my mouth, smiling at the faint taste of his lips. I fell asleep in comfort with the breathing of Tristan and Fone in the next room, soothing my jumpy nerves. © 2014 blackcayneAuthor's Note
