Child
A Poem by
Black Cat Fever
Child of the 1920s With her flowers and jewels Birds and fantasies She moves along the sidewalk Heads turn Whispers and excited talk Child of the night With a painted face Colors dark and light She comes and goes without trace None dare touch her Many do fear her Protests of red stripes She is others vice Set her green birds free She is wild, holds her liberty Beauty becomes her Lasting for all eternity .

Nicely done. Very mysterious tale. Makes we think she is a vampire or some other sort of immortal.
