Crows Calling

Crows Calling

A Poem by Black Cat Fever

Crows in the trees
Calling calling
Speaking of things that can never be

Black feathers against green leaves
Calling calling
Thoughts drifting into distant dreams

Ebony streaks winging away
No longer calling
Gone is the day

I can just see the crows gathering in the green leafy trees where they call back and forth to each other. Thus, one can wonder whether they are having a conversation about things that we can't see. Then they fly off, leaving the mystery of them behind for us to wonder about for a while. I really enjoyed your poem.

You are welcome...:).................
I take this as the call of the wild. Calling us to enjoy all nature's creatures and to see things in perspectives. I do believe that everything God created has a language or a form of comminication . Powerful and well done...:)....................

I do like the image of the crow, there's something so majestically gothic about them. I like how you portray them in this poem, you give them personality and wisdom.

Very nicely done. I often wonder what crows are saying when they all gather together and make alot of noise. Cool poem!

Why is it that crows make us sad or melancholy, while other birds make us happy? Is it their color. Crows appear in my yard on garbage day and they always make me feel creepy. A though provoking poem.

Thanks so much. Crows symbolize many things, all dark I think. Most common one is death.
Excellent mysterious poem. Crows are cool birds, I love to hear their call. An excellent write.

There is a haunting autumn feel to your write... maybe the hints at Poe and more... Love to hear the call of crows, and your words brought them to life.
