Once in a while

Once in a while

A Poem by blackbelief

Once in a while
I look for moments
amongst many that come my way
I trace my right index onto my left palm
and list down words that defied

time

I watch as my finger struggles to move
and practices gravitational equilibrium
like Newton once did.
Everything pulls on it and it doesn't seem to know
which way to move.

Dear love

People tell me you defy time
but your guise has eluded me.
Wave functions collapse and
moments seem to roll on like a film
you don't remember.
Before you know it,
you have sent another "HAPPY NEW YEAR"

Reality

is something I created. I vaguely remember being hurt
and the rules of pragmatism that followed.
Truth is, I have no proof of what is supposed to be.

So,
Once in a while,
I look for moments
amongst many that come my way
...
