In your stories

In your stories

A Poem by blackbelief

I was looking for still water
When the river had almost drowned me
Falling rocks had my feet slip
Climbing the mountain that killed me
In your stories
I went back twice and reached the summit
Each time
Your truths were framed lies
Of your painted world in flames
My lies were framed truths
That held up your canvas
In your stories
Snow-white ate the apple
Only to call the prince
Each time
I took the bite that killed me
In my story
I took it twice and lived, weaker
You were still loveable
With all your lies

Beautifully crafted and well penned. In the line "Climbing the mountain that killed me
In your stories
I went back twice and reached the summit
Each time
Your truths were framed lies
Of your painted world in flames
My lies were framed truths." I get a Myth of Sisyphus feel how Albert Camus explained it " Sisyphus is the ideal absurd hero and that his punishment is representative of the human condition: Sisyphus must struggle perpetually and without hope of success. So long as he accepts that there is nothing more to life than this absurd struggle, then he can find happiness in it." The struggles of climbing mountains and relating it to the human condition. The running contradictory of life ... doing exact opposite unintentionally and involuntary impulses takes you somewhere that battle is everlasting and only the human condition is only growing stronger to take more only. Keep writing very thought provoking. Sincerely your friend in writing and life
