Life came to me

This is an old one. I found this in my notebook from 5 years ago. Pretty bad I was I can see :D.

I've lived my days

and spent sleepless nights,

through my window

watched countless lights.

I've tried to sleep it off

and eventually realized

that ignorance is bliss

and there's still life flowing 

through me.

Was a happy lad

singing country songs,

roamed through streets

with friends till dawn.

We sang songs and

tuned with the old blues,

a paradise found,

when I plucked 

my guitar.

And like every story,

I saw a girl,

love in her eyes and roses in her hair.

She passed me by

and I stared

As in the streets forever,

and one day she disappeared.

It seems that the voices in my head

grew loud every day,

and I couldn't sleep 

lost in her thoughts

couldn't stay awake.

Time passed and the winds flew,

bringing kisses from lovers far away.

And I still watch the lights

through my window,

and I still got plenty of life

within my soul.

On a light summers day,

roamin' in the streets,

with the same old friends

and brown oldies,

As I played those blues,

Life came to me

And with a smile I said,

"Let me teach you how to live."
