Hidden Pearl

Hidden Pearl

A Poem by Hush Hush

Sparkling eyes,
When I turn myself around,
I can't forgive the way you gaze at me,
With disgust...
When you're all smiles,
And adoring gawk,
Like you do when you talk to HER,
If only....
If only....
I had the power...
To open the bottle,
Full of fire...
Why can't you look at ME?
ME inside
Not the small clam
That I am...
I tried to save you,
But I failed...
Too late...
She spirited you away.
Too bad you couldn't see the real me,
Couldn't...
Didn't...
Won't...
CAN anyone see through this mask of paper clay,
When all I can do is stare at your back as you walk away?

I like this poem in spite of all the negative words in it.

For one so young, you write really well, you express emotions as an adult would, even better than some, another excellent poem

you have a wonderful writing style full of dramatic pauses--just loved it Frank :)
