The Wrong SolutionA Poem by PeterWe were trying to work it out Nothing I did was enough Counseling was an option You certainly made it tough We were living apart under one roof For a while it was better that way I have told you that I needed you Daily I begged you to stay You seemed to have multiple personalities You had a thousand faces The children were confused We all lived in our own spaces I asked how I could help you All you would do is look at the floor I really wanted to stay But you kept pushing me towards the door One day you were happy The next day you were sad I pleaded let the doctor help you But this only made you mad Medication you have taken Sometimes by the score This morning I have found you Lying unconscious on the floor The paramedics tried to revive you The children held each other and cried I was totally shocked and beside myself When they told me you have died To fix a temporary problem A permanent solution you have chosen All I see is you lying there Time forever frozen I can’t help but keep thinking About the day we said I do I keep asking myself did you love me The same way that I loved you © 2016 PeterFeatured Review
