Thoughts of You

Alone with my thoughts, I think of you

I remember a pain no amount of time will dull

I recall everything so clearly

Your smile, so bright and dazzling

Your eyes, so full of emotion

Your presence, so overbearing

You radiated a dominance unlike any other

You commanded my attention, not letting me rest

But this was a good thing

I was connected to you and you to me

In so short a time you became my world

You erased the memories of all others

They were unimportant, unable to compare with you

With a single kiss, you rocked my world

You ignited a fire that was all consuming

You made me crave the impossible

You made me crave forever after

But only with you

Imagine the pain I felt at your betrayal

For all the good, you possess a fatal flaw

And that flaw is cowardice

With that kiss, our souls united

And fear took hold of you

It was too much, too fast

So you broke off the one way you knew would hurt the most

Your betrayal cut so much deeper than the others'

Because you meant so much more

You dashed my hopes and dreams

Forevermore is not for me

Not with you, not with anyone

I have been ruined ever since 

Happiness is only fleeting, never lasting

You taught me that

You left me with not just a broken heart

You left my soul in tatters

And yet still I love you

Very well written. Reminds me of my last relationship. Good job

I get it. The offender works his way into your heart, only to wrap his slimy body around it and like an anaconda, smother everything that his target held close to him. But the worst part, is that the individual cannot let this snake go. Great job, I imagined every word coming from the voice of the poem.
