Writing on the wall

Writing on the wall

A Poem by Drako

It has begun to take form in my mind
the conclusion is coming
the result is obvious to me
are you really so blind?
can you really not see how this goes?
when we part, it will not be merely a physical separation
this is the end of us
i see it now
the trust is gone
i'm not sure it ever really existed
and as preparations are made
you still hold onto the lie you've told yourself
you expect me to believe these lies
i cannot believe them
i'm no naive little boy
i learned long ago how to see the writing on the wall
and perhaps this is for the best
perhaps you'll finally find what you're looking for
maybe you'll finally be happy instead of just pretending
and maybe the rage that burns in me will cool

A powerful poem. I like the words "i learned long ago how to see the writing on the wall". Most people are blinded to the destine future and close their eyes. I like this poem. Straight to the point and no weakness. I like the ending. A outstanding poem. Thank you.

Excellent, Drako. You are a strong, passionate, powerful writer sharing works that many, including myself can relate with. "I learned long ago how to see the writing on the wall". Deception surely has its own language. "I'm no naive little boy". And you have the power. Perfect poem.
