There For You

As I sit reflecting on the feelings i have inside

i realize that there must be conflict in you

perhaps i have not hidden my feelings as well as i should have

Perhaps the depth of my emotion is frightening to you

So i feel the need to clarify

what we have is special to me

it isn't something i wish to jeopardize for what may be a passing crush

I have not sought you out for my own reasons

We have a beautiful friendship here

Pursuing more could ruin that

I wish only to keep that going

I want to be there for you

to help lift you when you're down

through the good time and the bad

you can count on me 

to be there beside you

I will be the best friend you have

because we both know I cannot be more

I will be there when you fall

and when you rise up again

I will be there through the hardships

the pain and the suffering

I will be there through all the rainy days

through thick and thin

No matter what happens

i stand there beside you

or maybe behind you in shadow

Either way, my presence will always be there

And if one day

you decide you want something more

I'll still be there for you

with a smile on my face and a tear in my eye

Happy to share more with you as time goes on

This is beautiful and so sweet. :) That would definitely be a friendship to hold on to, but unfortunately that kind of friendship is difficult to find because most people are always after their own selfish needs. Another amazing write.
