This Day

This day has been enlightening

So calm and peaceful

so free of conflict

a time to sit and think

a time for reflection

a day when my thoughts are clear

there is no turmoil

nothing clouds my judgment

a day to assess my life

a day to look forward 

a day to plan for change

such a rare day

i feel the happiness 

the sheer joy that is often lost

today was a good day

no, it was a great day

my mind is so much clearer

my goals are set

the plans have begun

though i'm alone this day

i feel no sorrow

no despair

only hope

hope for a bright future

hope for a love to withstand the test of time

hope for a lasting happiness
