Light to my Dark

Through the darkness in my soul

I still feel this deep love

I love this man I’m with

I desire him like no other

Through the fussing and fighting

The bickering and arguing

No other lays claim to my heart like him

No other turns me on 

Happiness is a foreign emotion to me

Yet through it all with him that’s what I feel

He doesn’t believe it

Perhaps that’s my fault

But truly I can’t see myself with another

At the end of a long day

There’s no other I want to lay with

No other I trust to sleep in my bed

No other I can give my heart to

None I can give my body to

Though I remain as dark as ever

He remains my light

I'm so glad you recommended that I read this because its resemblance to my own life at the moment is remarkable. The guy that I am involved with does not trust me though I have given him absolutely no reason not to. He's always suspicious of my innocent actions and it stirs so much drama. Despite all of this though, I can't keep myself away from him. This is a very touching poem :)
