Darkness Returns

Darkness Returns

A Poem by Drako

I always had this feeling that baby boy was cheating
I kept telling myself, “If you aren’t happy, B just leave him.”
Do you know how it feels to hurt behind closed doors?
When you go outside you’re wondering what you’re smiling for
To come home and find things missing, things that only you should use
To know that while you’re working to pay bills
He’s out with someone else
To wonder if he actually went out with someone else or if they came to him
If they were together in your bed or on your couch, maybe just on your floor
Do you know how it feels to do everything for a person, to deny him nothing, and have him just slap you in the face with infidelity?
The pain, the humiliation
The feeling of betrayal that no one will ever be able to fix
It’s the kind of pain that changes you
It makes you stronger
But also darker and trust isn’t given freely, if at all
It makes you wonder if anyone is even worth the time it takes to get to know them
Or is everyone a lying sack of s**t like him?
